Though I may not agree with everything this clip shows, it may cause us to think about potential scenarios where riding on the far right side is NOT the safest thing to do.
Personally, I have started riding in the middle of the land when I approach a blind hill. Why? If you haven’t experienced this…you will; you’re riding on the right side and a car behind you is passing you towards the top of the hill (in the most dangerous spot) and next thing you know a car in the opposite direction appears. What do you think the car beside you is going to do? Swerve to miss you or swerve to miss the oncoming car? Riding in the middle of the lane till I get to the top of the hill forces cars behind me to stay back, therefore, I just eliminated this from ever happening.
I catch flack for doing this but I WILL NEVER SACRIFICE MY SAFETY FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF OTHERS. You shouldn’t either.
See ya on the road…
